Traveling in a construction zone can be frustrating at times. Combine construction crews and equipment with 14,000+ vehicles a day and the rural nature of many miles, and travel on U.S. 93 travel can be challenging. Here are some travel tips from ADOT:

  • Dial before you drive – get travel info by dialing ADOT at 511 or 1.888.411.7623.
  • Motorist Assistance Patrol to the rescue – Need assistance on the road? Together ADOT and the Department of Public Safety offer help to distressed motorists traveling on U.S. 93 construction areas when contractor is not working.
  • Use a Call Box phone – Report problems by using call box phones and contacting the Arizona Department of Public Safety dispatch center directly. Four call boxes are located on U.S. 93 between Wickenburg and Wikieup.
  • Be patient & alert – Every effort will be made to minimize impact on motorists during construction. Please obey posted speed limits and traffic control signage, and watch for construction personnel, vehicles and equipment. Be patient and alert – ready to slow, stop or respond to signals.
